An owl statue will not save the game automatically in The Legend Of Zelda – Skyward Sword Rom. The listed 861 MB USA .iso is the Wii release for Dolphin, built around MotionPlus sword control and puzzle-heavy routes below Skyloft.
A Tornado Ends the Flight Above Skyloft
Skyloft, a nation floating above the Surface, is home to Link and Zelda, the girl he loves. During a flight on their bird mounts, a sudden tornado appears without warning and carries Zelda away from him. Fi joins the search. The spirit lives inside a sword and accompanies Link beneath the clouds to the long-forgotten Surface.

The Overworld Has Already Started the Puzzle
Before Link enters a temple, the overworld asks for puzzles more often than it calls for combat. Once inside, he works through another series of problems before meeting its boss at the end. Victory advances the plot.
A Sword Swing Can Be Part of the Answer
Wii MotionPlus tracks Link’s sword movement at a 1:1 rate. Some puzzle ideas use the same sword motion, so the blade is not reserved for enemies. Fi lives inside it. Dolphin emulates this Wii design; the button-and-stick option was created later for Switch.
This ISO Predates the 2021 HD Changes
Skyward Sword HD arrived on Nintendo Switch in 2021. The listed file is the USA Wii edition and does not contain the later port’s changes.
Buttons and Free Camera Arrived on Switch
Graphics and frame rate were enhanced for the later port. Motion input was refined, and a separate control scheme using buttons and sticks became available. Free camera control works at selected points. Opening tutorials and item descriptions were streamlined too.
Owl Statues Became Auto-Save Points
Cutscenes and dialogue can be skipped in HD, including interactions with Fi. Passing an owl statue now triggers auto-save. The Wii image still relies on manual saving and contains no amiibo support. In the later release, the Loftwing amiibo moves Link directly between Skyloft and the Surface.
