ZSNES is an open-source emulator created to recreate the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) on modern computers. First released in 1997, ZSNES quickly gained popularity for its user-friendly interface and wide compatibility with SNES games (ROMs), save states, graphical enhancements and netplay for multiplayer gaming. Although development ceased in 2007, this nostalgic emulator remains a fan favorite despite outdated architecture and security vulnerabilities; newer emulators such as Snes9x or bsnes may offer greater accuracy and security; nevertheless ZSNES will always hold a special place in history of SNES emulation!
