It’s a free-to-play card RPG where you collect characters, build a deck, then grind through quests and boss fights, and yes, it leans hard into DxD’s fanservice with the “Dress Break” feature. The copy I tested came as a single file around 536 MB, and it’s Japanese-only from top to bottom, so expect full-on JP menus and text.

The “Skill” Is in the Deck, Not Your Reflexes

High School DxD: New Fight is a stage-based action card gacha that lives and dies by your roster. You pull characters, build a deck around a chosen leader, then keep feeding that team upgrades and farmed materials until the numbers, and the synergies, start to click. Fights are usually quick bursts where the real “skill” shows up before you even hit play. Lineup choices, timing your power spikes, and stacking the right combos matter more than twitchy, hands-on combat. You grind through story and quest chapters, scoop up rewards, and funnel them straight back into leveling cards, boosting gear, and smoothing out weak links. Each chunk ends with bosses that feel way more manageable when you have a solid friend or assist to lean on, and when you are done pushing PvE there is competitive ranked stuff like Rating Game plus other online modes to keep the loop from going stale. It also leans into signature quirks like Dress Break and costumes, so it is not shy about the fan-service flavor it is serving. Bottom line: if you enjoy collecting, min-maxing, and watching a team grow from “scrappy” to “disgusting,” it scratches that itch. If you want deep, fully manual, mechanically demanding action, this one is not built for that.
